ATP is utilized in the Kreb’s cycle which physiologically is one of the key providers of energy to the muscle (and other) cells, especially during strenuous and endurance work. In the process of phosphorilization, a phosphate molecule is given up thus providing energy in completion of the Kreb’s cycle. The use of ATP increases the amount of available molecules thus delaying fatigue and allowing quikker replenishment of ATP from “spent” ADP.
